JOHN PASEUR

WAVES BASEBALL COACH

Coach John is from McLean, Virginia, and attended Landon for Middle and High School, winning an IAC Championship as a junior in 2011 and runner-up as a senior in 2012. In the Fall of 2011, Coach John discovered Koa Sports, and began playing on Koa’s High School Showcase Team under Coaches Mike Evans & Mike Brown.  Taking his game to the college level, Coach John played DIII baseball at Johns Hopkins University.  Unfortunately, he was derailed by a concussion, but found a new opportunity to stay involved in the sport he loved by helping out at his college’s Club Basbeall Team & Coaching. His coaching journey started in 2015 in the Roland Park Baseball League (Impact Baseball, Baltimore, MD) and at the Middle School level at The Calvert School (Baltimore, MD).  After graduating from JHU, Coach John returned home and began coaching the AA Thunder in Koa’s BABL League in the fall of 2016.  Shortly after, he became a mainstay in Koa’s Winter Development Clinics, Summer Camp, and Travel Baseball program. He has many notable coaching achievements including winning a pair of Championships in BABL (Fall of 2017, Spring of 2019), and winning the Batten Down the Hatches Travel Tournament at the 12U level in the Fall of 2019, after finishing runner-up in the Upper Chesapeake Baseball Festival 12U Tournament, Summer of 2019.  Coach John is an extremely active & passionate coach. He also coaches Soccer, Basketball, and Baseball for St. Andrew’s Episcopal School Middle School, (Potomac, MD) and is the JV Basketball Assistant and Varsity Baseball Assistant Coach (where he has been since Spring of 2019). Coach John is a trained Umpire by Northern Virginia Travel Baseball League (NVTBL) and still plays baseball for the Oakton Orioles in the Federal Baseball League, based out of Northern Virginia, catching and playing third base.
